A Busy Summer

Vietnam.jpg

Who would have ever thought that kids and parents would be checking in on the website during the middle of summer. I get IM’s, emails, and comments when I am out and in the community as to why I have not been posting anything online during this first part of the summer. My only response is that I have been lazier than sin. I would love to tell you that there has been a technical issue or I have been busy saving the rainforest or fighting the staggering AIDS crisis in Africa but the truth is I have been just busy enjoying a beautiful and loooonngggg summer.

I have had some travels. Got called up one Sunday to drive some friends to Washington, DC and act as tour guide around one of my favorite places in the world. The call came in at 1:00 and we were on the road at 3:30. WOW! You know it was a first for me too. We were out on the Capital Mall at 2:00 in the morning trying to take nighttime photographs of the memorials. Needless to say I need some more practice with nighttime photography. What was really neat that night was when President George Bush left a function and drove right by us.

Speaking of taking pictures, I did unload all the photographs from the last week of school activities into the Photo Gallery. Mummifying Barbie’s, African Cookies, PowderPuff, the WAVES Dance Project, and even Awards Day are up there. Take a look and let me know what you think. I have been working like one day a week at Interim HealthCare in Wilson, NC, so I have had to dress with the whole slacks and tie thing. I was hoping to not have to put a tie on all summer but oh well.

Ok, I am signing off for now, with heartfelt promises to do better with the updates. Feel free to post your interesting summer news so others know what is going on with you.
