Back to the Blog

In speaking to a wise man recently I commented how this had been the first group of students and even parents where I did not feel the website was being used to its maximum advantage. I whined upon the time it takes to update and post pictures and blogs of the activities we are enjoying in class. I droned on about how I wish the students and parents would really use the site and make comments about what was positive and productive for them. This friend listened intently and then told me with no uncertain terms to “get over it.” He reminded me that I did not blog solely for the current students and that parents did not have to comment or even look at the site if they didn’t see fit, but some would and for those I owed them the time and energy to post regularly. So here I find myself back on the blog. I will make it my goal to create a site where students and parents are not compelled to visit but who want to. If there are things that would make the site better I ask for your comments and ideas. It is my steadfast ambition that every child should experience success, at least while they are in my classroom. Please help me make this site what it needs to be for you.

I recently traveled with a students group from CB Aycock to Washington DC as part of the World View program. What a tremendous experience this was. The weather was awful, the hours excruciating, and the chill filled the air but these energetic and enthusiastic young ladies and gentlemen endeavored to get as much as possible from the experience. I left excited and compelled in my choice of careers. I posted all the pictures from the expedition on the Photo Gallery site if you are interested.

At Norwayne so much has been changing for the good. Our 26 Multimedia carts are built and in the classrooms and are getting a good workout from the more adventurous teachers amongst us. I absolutely love hearing how different teachers are using the MVP’s in their classes and how the students are responding to the new technology. As more and more utilize eInstruction I know the energy will build. Already there is a growing outcry for complimentary components that could be added to the carts to allow further educational opportunities.
